As a result of another drone attack on Russian territory, one of Russia’s key oil refineries, the Ryazan Refinery, has been forced to reduce its operations to a minimum. After the strikes, two of the company’s three main units failed, and the plant is currently operating at only 48% of its capacity.
This is reported by Reuters.
According to three energy industry sources, drones damaged the primary oil refining units CDU-3 and CDU-4. The first has a capacity of 8,600 tons per day, the second – 11,400 tons. This significantly reduced the processing volumes at the enterprise.
Currently, the only operating unit at the plant is CDU-6. It is capable of processing up to 23,200 tons per day, which is slightly less than half of the plant’s total capacity.
Last year, the plant processed 13.1 million tons of oil, producing, in particular, 2.3 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel, 4.2 million tons of fuel oil, and 1 million tons of jet fuel.
In addition to the Ryazan enterprise, the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery was also hit by drones. Its work was completely stopped on August 2.
Both plants are controlled by the Russian state corporation Rosneft. The Ryazan Refinery has a declared maximum annual capacity of 17–18 million tons of oil, with the majority of finished products destined for export.
As a reminder, the General Staff reported that the Defense Forces struck the Ryazan and Novokuybeshiv oil refineries , and the Anna Nefteprodukt fuel and lubricants base in the Voronezh region.
As reported, on the night of August 5, unknown drones attacked the Tatsinsk railway station, located in the Rostov region of Russia . As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the facility.
