Emergency power outages began in Ukraine on October 8. Initially, restrictions were introduced in Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions, later joined by Kharkiv and Kramatorsk.
This was reported by DTEK and regional energy companies.
DTEK reported that the outage in Kyiv was implemented at the command of NPC Ukrenergo. These are emergency restrictions, so normal schedules are not in effect at this time.
“Kyiv: emergency shutdowns have been applied at the command of Ukrenergo. We remind you that during emergency shutdowns, schedules do not apply,” the company noted.
Distribution system operators in Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions also reported similar restrictions.
As of 9:50 a.m., Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region were added to the list of regions where emergency shutdowns were applied.
At 10:00, Kramatorsk REM reported a power outage in Kramatorsk. The city began turning off electricity at 10:00.
The reason for the introduction of emergency restrictions was not specified in the messages. At the same time, the shutdown regime may change depending on further commands from Ukrenergo.
