Steve Witkoff said that a separate constructive meeting took place in the US-Ukraine format. During the negotiations, the parties focused on four key areas that should become the basis for the further process.

This concerns the further development of the 20-point plan, the coordination of positions on the multilateral system of security guarantees, the formation of a system of US security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as the development of a plan for economic recovery and prosperity.

“Particular attention was paid to discussing the timing and sequence of next steps. Ukraine remains fully committed to achieving a just and sustainable peace,” Steve Witkoff wrote.

He also noted that the common priority of the parties is to cease hostilities, ensure guaranteed security, and create conditions for the stability and long-term development of Ukraine.

“The shared priority is to stop the killings, ensure guaranteed security, and create conditions for Ukraine’s recovery, stability, and long-term prosperity,” the US President’s special envoy noted.

In addition, Witkoff reported on the talks between the American delegation and Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev. According to him, these meetings were also constructive and aimed at promoting US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

“Russia remains fully committed to achieving peace in Ukraine. Russia highly appreciates the efforts and support of the United States in resolving the Ukrainian conflict and restoring global security,” Steve Witkoff wrote, conveying the position of the Russian side.

The Special Envoy emphasized that a peaceful settlement is seen not only as an end to hostilities, but as the basis for further stability and security in the region.

By the way, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that in order to end the war, Ukraine and Russia must make mutual compromises . According to him, the United States is currently determining whether both sides are ready for such steps.

It was previously reported that Ukraine and the United States plan to hold a new round of negotiations as part of the preparation of a potential peace agreement.
