Worked with children and corrected blows: FSB agent detained in Dnipro
The SBU detained an FSB agent in Dnipro who was collecting and passing on coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities and air defense systems to the Russian special service. According to the investigation, he was coordinating shelling of Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that military counterintelligence exposed an enemy agent working in Dnipro. He turned out to be a local resident who, according to the investigation, was recruited by the FSB through Telegram channels in search of “quick money.”
“The attacker tracked military facilities while traveling in his own vehicle, marked their coordinates on Google Maps, and added detailed descriptions of the area,” the post says.
He stored the information he received on his smartphone and transferred it to the curator of the Russian special services.
The SBU notes that the suspect also tried to identify the positions of the Ukrainian air defense.
“He stored the collected information on his mobile phone for a subsequent report to the FSB curator,” the department reported.
Law enforcement officers documented his activities and detained him during a special operation. Measures were also taken to protect military facilities in regions where the enemy intelligence network was operating.
During the search, a phone and laptop containing evidence of cooperation with the FSB were seized from the detainee.
He has been charged with treason committed during martial law. The man is being held without bail and could face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, the SBU counterintelligence detained a Russian agent in Transcarpathia who was spying on defense factories. The recruit turned out to bean employee of a local factory who was spying on enterprises that fulfilled defense orders in the west of the country.
