Underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine are only 32% full, the lowest level in 12 years.
This was reported by the analytical company ExPro.
“This year’s reserves in storage facilities remain the lowest in at least the last 12 years, but the gap from last year is narrowing. For the first time since the beginning of the year, the gap has dropped below 10%. Thus, compared to last year, 9% or 990 million cubic meters less gas is stored in underground storage facilities,” ExPro reported.
As of August 5, Ukraine has 10 billion cubic meters of gas stored, while the volume required to complete the heating season is 13 billion cubic meters.
Only 1 billion cubic meters have been pumped into storage facilities in the past 19 days. Gas reserves are 9% lower than last year.
It was previously reported that Ukraine began regular imports of American liquefied gas through Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova in June .
