Ukraine has almost finished its performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy without winning any medals. This is the third time in history that the Ukrainian team has been left without any awards at the Winter Olympics, and at the same time the worst result in terms of top places.

This is reported by “Pryamiy” .

Thus, Ukraine repeated the medal-free result of 2002 and 2010. However, if then the best was 5th place, then in 2026 the highest position was 10th place in individual disciplines.

In particular, Vitaliy Mandzin took 10th place in the biathlon mass start, Kateryna Kotsar in the freestyle big air, and Oleksandr Okipnyuk in acrobatics.

In team and pair competitions, the best results were 6th and 7th places in luge.

Previously, Ukraine was left without medals at the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2010. Then, 5th place was taken by Valentina Shevchenko, Stanislav Kravchuk, and Andriy Deryzemlya.

In total, throughout the history of the Winter Olympics, Ukraine has won 9 medals, 3 of which are gold. The champions were Oksana Baiul, Vita Semerenko, Yulia Dzyma, Valya Semerenko, Olena Pidgrushna, and Oleksandr Abramenko.

Silver medals were won by Elena Petrova and Oleksandr Abramenko, bronze medals by Valentina Tserbe-Nesina, Liliya Yefremova, Elena Hrushyna, and Ruslan Goncharov.

At the 2026 Games, Ukraine was represented by 46 athletes, which is more than during the Olympics in Lillehammer, Sochi, and Pyeongchang, where Ukrainians won awards.

Skiers Dmytro Dragun and Oleksandr Lisohor also remain on the course, but they have no chance of winning medals.

Let us remind you that on Monday, February 16, six sets of medals were awarded at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Ukrainian athletes competed in four events.
