WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai: who will Ukrainian tennis players play against?

The draw for the WTA 1000 tournament took place in Dubai over the weekend, and the results revealed who Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Dayana Yastremska will compete against.

This was reported by the publication “Football 24”.

Dayana Yastremska will fight for the victory first. She will face Janis Tjen from Indonesia. And in case of victory, the Ukrainian will compete against Russian Lyudmila Samsonova or Leila Fernandez from Canada.

Elina Svitolina will start the competition in the second round. She was seeded 7th in the draw, so she will not participate in the first stage.

In the second round of the competition, Svitolina will play against the winner of the pair of Kateryna Siniakova from the Czech Republic and Paula Badosa from Spain.

It is worth noting that Ukraine was planned to be represented by three tennis players at the tournament. Marta Kostyuk was supposed to join Yastremska and Svitolina, but an injury prevented her from doing so.
