Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak is likely behind potential personnel changes in the Government, which could happen in the near future.
This is stated in an article by the British publication The Economist.
It is noted that Yermak is making attempts to remove certain officials, instead promoting the people he “needs”.
Thus, according to three interlocutors who spoke on condition of anonymity, the head of the OP influenced the course of Chernyshov’s case. In particular, he was the one who allowed it to move forward, while he froze others.
“Sources believe that Chernyshov’s real ‘sin’ was that he stood in Yermak’s way. First, he tried to become an alternative channel of communication with the Americans. Second, his removal cleared the way for the advancement of Yulia Sviridenko, a politician closely associated with Yermak,” the journalists noted.
As the material notes, Yermak plans personnel changes in the ministries of education, healthcare, finance, culture, and social policy, and also seeks to remove Denys Shmyhal from the post of Prime Minister, replacing him with Yulia Svyrydenko.
In addition, in June, Yermak made his ninth attempt to remove Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, from his post. According to sources close to Yermak, Budanov is “an unpredictable revolutionary who is building his own political machine.”
“Ninety percent of the office thinks he’s crazy, and ten percent thinks he’s a genius,” the sources added.
According to the publication, the head of the GUR managed to keep his position by combining cunning and pressure, or this was facilitated by numerous warnings from the White House.
As it became known, the President’s Office is preparing a decision on the resignation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and a complete renewal of the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.
By the way, the current Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal may be replaced by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko as early as July 2025 .
