The European Commission commented on the case of former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, who is suspected of involvement in money laundering.
This was reported by “Suspilne” with reference to the European Commission spokesman Guillaume Mercier.
According to him, it is such investigations that show that anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine are working.
Brussels emphasized that the fight against corruption remains one of the main conditions for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
They also emphasized that anti-corruption institutions must be protected and operate independently.
“The European Commission will closely monitor the development of the situation,” Mercier said.
The EU once again emphasized that effective fight against corruption directly affects Ukraine’s European integration path.
Previously, “Pryamiy” reported that on May 11, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted investigative actions against the former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.
The NABU and the SAPO have also completed an investigation into a large-scale case of alleged corruption in the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment for defense purposes. The case materials have now been opened for review by the defense.
It should be noted that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not appear and does not appear in the case of the legalization of 460 million hryvnias for the construction of elite cottages near Kyiv.
