Yermak’s people in power: Mendel called Svyridenko his “man”

Former press secretary of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, in a comment to Radio Liberty, stated that Andriy Yermak, the former head of the President’s Office, continues to influence politics and personnel appointments in Ukraine.
“Let’s be honest, he has been the ‘main HR department’ for the past few years, and many of the people in power today are his loyalists, friends, and those who made their careers thanks to him,” Mendel noted.
According to her, such people include, in particular, the candidate for the post of prime minister and ministers, as well as participants in the negotiations in the US, including Yulia Svyrydenko. Mendel emphasized that the former head of the OPU has not given up attempts to influence politics and continues to use the so-called “telephone right.”
“Since 2019, Andriy Borisovich has been building his own vertical of power. He always claimed that he was working exclusively for the president, but in reality these were also PR moves,” the former press secretary added.
Mendel emphasized that the loyalty of many key figures in power, including Svyridenko, is directly related to Yermak’s personal influence on their careers.
