“You’ve already changed our country”: Lviv bids farewell to Stepan Kubiv
A farewell ceremony for Stepan Kubiv took place at St. George’s Cathedral . Thousands of people – family, friends, colleagues, and associates – came to bid him farewell.
During the ceremony, Kubiv was mentioned as a “cheerful, energetic, and positive” man, as well as one of the key statesmen of modern Ukraine.
“Ukraine will remember your deeds: you are a brilliant economist, a statesman, a patriot, the commandant of the Trade Union House on the Maidan, the head of the National Bank, the Minister of Economy, the First Deputy Prime Minister, and the co-author of all the fundamental reforms,” was the eulogy heard during the farewell.
The speech also emphasized that Kubiv “left a mark not only on his deeds, but also on people’s hearts.”
“You’ve already changed our country, friend. Sleep well,” they said at the end of the ceremony.
