The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, who is the only candidate for the post of Prime Minister, has announced the main tasks that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sets for the renewed government. The main goal is to strengthen the country’s economic potential, expand social programs, and scale up the production of its own weapons, which will become the foundation for supporting the Armed Forces and the stability of the state.

She wrote about this on Facebook .

Svyrydenko spoke in detail about the key tasks that will face the new government of Ukraine, formed at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

She emphasized that the president sets several priority tasks for the government. First, it is strengthening the economic potential of Ukraine, which involves activating the development of the national economy even in difficult war conditions.

Secondly, an important task is to expand social support programs for Ukrainians suffering from the consequences of the war. Finally, scaling up domestic weapons production is one of the strategic priorities, which will increase the country’s defense capabilities.

Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that the implementation of these tasks is possible only through significant deregulation, elimination of bureaucratic obstacles, reduction of non-critical state expenditures, and elimination of duplicative functions of state institutions.

“Protection of entrepreneurship and full concentration of state resources should work for the defense of Ukraine and the restoration of the country after hostilities,” the minister said.

Svyrydenko placed special emphasis in her statement on supporting Ukraine’s defense forces and ensuring the stability of the state. She noted that this is the most important goal that the new government must implement.

In addition, the minister announced that she will soon announce her proposals for candidates for key ministerial positions in the renewed government.

The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko to head the Cabinet of Ministers.

Subsequently, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that an official change of government is expected on July 16, in which Yulia Svyridenko will be nominated for the post of Prime Minister instead of Denys Shmyhal . The changes will affect a number of ministries, including the defense, economic and social blocs.
