President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The main topics were the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems, drones, and pilot training.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on his Telegram channel.
It is noted that the conversation between the presidents lasted one hour.
“We discussed the situation on the front lines and Ukraine’s priority defense needs. I am grateful to Emmanuel for his truly strategic view and willingness to help with exactly what our soldiers need. We also talked in detail about strengthening Ukrainian air defense, in particular, the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems and financing of interceptor drones,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine and France will prepare joint decisions at the level of the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs regarding new steps in defense against Russian strikes.
Separately, Zelenskyy emphasized the agreement on training Ukrainian pilots for the Mirage 2000. He added that France is ready to accept additional pilots for training on additional aircraft.
“Together, we are increasing pressure on Russia to achieve an unconditional ceasefire and the start of negotiations for a just and lasting peace,” Macron wrote on the social network X.
Earlier it became known that EU ambassadors approved a new, eighteenth package of sanctions against Russia. It included restrictions on banks, the oil industry, and the “shadow fleet.”
It is worth noting that a French national review predicts that the war in Ukraine could last another three to five years . In addition, new offensive operations are possible in other points near Europe.
