Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region and the identification of further steps to strengthen defense.

According to Zelensky, after consultations with Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykhailo Drapaty, the General Staff, and Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara, a course of action was determined.

Specifically, plans are underway to strengthen Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region thanks to two updated groups, commanded by Heroes of Ukraine Denis Prokopenko and Andriy Beletsky.

The President also noted the report of the Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleh Apostol.

Zelenskyy also addressed the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region. Units should receive more necessary equipment, including ground-based robotic systems (GRS).

“We need solutions to ensure more production and more purchases,” the president said.

Zelenskyy also announced that he, the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief, had agreed on the systematic use of “middlestrikes.” To achieve this, he said, appropriate personnel decisions must be made.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, along with military leadership, visited the Oleksandrivske sector on August 25, where he met with Ukrainian defenders and discussed the units’ needs.
