On the night of September 17, Ukrainian forces attacked an oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region and a military airfield in Rostov. As a result, three aircraft and three helicopters were hit.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, the SBU, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the State Security Service, and the Foreign Intelligence Service jointly worked on the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery.

Another target was the military airfield in Rostov. There, the SBU hit an An-12 aircraft, two An-26s, and three helicopters.

Zelensky also announced “good results” in the Black Sea, but has not yet disclosed details.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Rostov-on-Don (Central) airfield. After the attack, a fire broke out there and detonation began.

In the Yaroslavl region, the Slavneft-YANOS refinery was hit. A primary oil refining unit caught fire on the plant’s territory.

It is one of the largest refineries in Russia, capable of processing about 15 million tons of oil per year. The plant produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil and other petroleum products. Its products are also used by the Russian army.
