Zelensky in London: sanctions and long-range weapons are the main levers of pressure on Russia
Володимир Зеленський
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during a meeting with the leaders of the “Coalition of the Willing” countries and the NATO Secretary General in London, emphasized the importance of the unity of the allies and the key role of the United States in ending the war with Russia.
” Pryamiy ” tells about this.
According to the head of state, Ukraine is not considering options for ending the conflict without the participation of the United States. “I want to say that we are not looking for an opportunity to end this war without the United States,” Zelensky said at a joint press conference.
The president stressed that Moscow is trying to split Euro-Atlantic unity, using all available tools of pressure, including strikes on energy infrastructure. “Putin wants to divide us and make us weaker. That is why we need to act together,” Zelensky added.
A video message on October 24 confirmed the agreements on financing Ukraine: the European Union is ready to direct frozen Russian assets to support the state and its citizens. It is planned that the format for using these funds will be implemented by the end of the year. “In general, the mood in Europe is such that we understand: next year, financing for Ukraine, for our people, will be provided,” the president noted.
Zelenskyy’s key points during the meeting:
- Partners confirmed that support for Ukraine will continue next year, especially in the financial sector.
- Russia continues terrorist attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, trying to use the cold as a tool to pressure the population and the country’s defense.
- Ukraine actively uses sanctions, long-range capabilities, diplomatic pressure, and responsibility for war crimes as means of countering the aggressor.
- Ukraine’s long-range capabilities, including Tomahawk and Storm Shadow cruise missiles, enhance the country’s diplomatic influence.
- The essence of the work of the “Coalition of the Willing” is to demonstrate the unity of allies and provide security guarantees for Ukraine.
It was also previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid an official visit to London, where he met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer . During the talks, the parties discussed military support, sanctions policy against Russia, energy security, and further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Recall that the other day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready for a diplomatic path to end the war , but will not make territorial concessions.
