The President of Ukraine has appealed to the government with an initiative to provide funds for the creation of 1,000 hours of Ukrainian content, which should strengthen the country’s national identity and cultural stability.

This is reported by ” Detector Media “.

It is noted that the relevant initiative was discussed on September 29 at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on humanitarian and information policy, where the allocation of an additional almost 4 billion hryvnias for 2026 for the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications was discussed.

At the committee meeting, a majority of votes supported the proposal to allocate additional funds provided for in the budget of the Ministry of Culture to the President’s initiative to create 1,000 hours of Ukrainian content .

Committee Chairman Mykyta Poturayev explained that the development of Ukrainian content is a matter of national security , as Russia actively promotes its cultural product abroad.

“This will strengthen Ukrainian identity and unity,” Poturayev emphasized.

According to preliminary calculations, over 1 billion hryvnias will be allocated to the State Film Agency and almost 1 billion hryvnias to the Ukrainian Cultural Fund (UCF). The funds are also planned to be directed to support the Ukrainian Institute, the Ukrainian Book Institute, the Institute of National Remembrance, the State Policy and other cultural institutions.

The meeting was attended by MPs Volodymyr Viatrovych, Pavlo Sushko, Yevhenia Kravchuk, Mykola Kniazhytskyi, Sofia Fedyna, Yuriy Pavlenko, Iryna Konstankevych, as well as Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin, Deputy Minister of Culture Halyna Hryhorenko, and Chairman of the State Film and Television Agency Andriy Osipov.

Deputies and representatives of ministries discussed the funding of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting , measures to memorialize memory, support for Ukrainian museums, and the importance of directly allocating additional funds to institutions.

The meeting participants agreed on a separate meeting with the Minister of Culture, Tetyana Berezhnaya, to detail the implementation of the President’s initiative “Production of 1,000 Hours of Ukrainian Content.”

We would like to add that the total amount of expenditures included in the draft state budget for 2026 will amount to 4.8 trillion hryvnias , which is more than 3 times higher than the expenditures of the Ukrainian budget before the full-scale invasion.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft state budget for 2026 and is submitting it for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada.
