On Friday, February 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.
This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.
“The President is just now speaking with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico. The President invites him to Ukraine to discuss all existing issues,” the post says.
Zelensky invited the Slovak Prime Minister to come to Ukraine. The Office of the Prime Minister noted that the head of state is waiting for him “to discuss all existing issues.”
The conversation took place after Fico’s statement on February 21. Then he threatened to stop the supply of emergency electricity to Ukraine from March 2 if Kyiv does not resume the transit of Russian oil to Slovakia through the Druzhba pipeline, which is out of service after the shelling.
Fico also stated that Zelensky allegedly does not understand Slovakia’s “peaceful approach” and has a “malicious attitude” towards his country because it “does not support war.”
As a reminder, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that he had instructed to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine.
As reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, together with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, proposed on February 27, 2026 , to establish a joint investigative commission to assess the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline . The commission aims to verify the actual condition of the pipeline and ensure uninterrupted oil supplies.
