The average dollar exchange rate in Ukrainian banks exceeded 45 hryvnias for the first time. Against this background, the network recalled the statement of Volodymyr Zelensky, which he made back in 2019.
This is reported by Censor.NET.
During a meeting at the Transcarpathian Customs on July 9, 2019, the then-newly elected president addressed customs employees and urged them to change their approaches to work.
Speaking about possible negative scenarios after the elections, Zelensky also mentioned forecasts for the exchange rate of the national currency.
“Once they told us: there will be 45 UAH for the dollar under Zelensky, there will be chaos, there will be war – look, nothing happened. And we can do it without you too. If you want to work – let’s work together. If you don’t want to – quit,” he said then.
However, on June 10, banks updated their exchange rates, after which the average dollar rate in financial institutions exceeded 45 hryvnias for the first time in history.
Thus, the mark, which in 2019 was mentioned among unlikely scenarios, became a reality in the Ukrainian foreign exchange market a few years later.
