On Monday, November 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree changing the structure of the Apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
This is stated on the website of the presidential online representation.
In this way, the previous decree of February 26, 2021 on “Issues of the Apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine” became invalid.
In the new document, Zelensky decided to change the maximum number of employees of the Apparatus, increasing it to 252 full-time employees.
According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, from now on the new structure will focus on a number of areas of work: war and victory, development of the defense-industrial complex, cybersecurity and information policy, economic and energy security, external and internal security.
The main divisions of the NSDC Apparatus:
- Department of Military Security, Mobilization and Territorial Defense;
- Department of Defense Industrial Complex;
- Department of Information Security and Cyber Defense;
- Department of Strategic Dialogue and Post-War Settlement;
- Department of Economic, Financial and Sanctions Policy;
- The main situational center of Ukraine.
“This decision is not just about organizational changes. It is about efficiency in wartime. When every decision must work for the defense, economy, and strength of the state, the NSDC must remain the coordination center that ensures the result,” the official wrote .
He emphasized that the approach to work is also changing. In particular, there will be less bureaucracy and more systematicity, speed, and responsibility.
“All decisions made in the security and defense sector must not only be agreed upon, but also implemented,” Umerov concluded.
