On the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion, February 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing new sanctions against Russians.
This is stated on the website of the President’s online representation.
29 people and 15 legal entities — organizations and bodies of the so-called occupation administrations registered in the TOT and in the Russian Federation — fell under the next restrictions.
According to Zelensky, sanctioned objects and entities support the Russian occupation, spread propaganda, change facts, distort history, and remove cultural values from Crimea.
“Russians have a long tradition of using historical lies, manipulation, and silence as weapons. But there is no Russian weapon that we have not learned to destroy, and we will defeat this ideological weapon of theirs as well. Sanctions are one of the tools,” he wrote .
Ukraine is currently working with partners to synchronize sanctions in international jurisdictions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to inform the competent authorities of the EU, the US, and other states about the application of new restrictions and to raise with them the issue of applying similar restrictive measures.
Earlier, Zelenskyy implemented the NSDC’s decision to impose sanctions against 225 captains of ships of the Russian shadow fleet and individuals and companies associated with servicing the Russian military-industrial complex.
Recall that Ukraine has introduced a new package of sanctions against companies that supply Russia with critically important foreign components and help establish the production of missiles and drones in circumvention of international restrictions.
