President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on the payment of one-time assistance to relatives of soldiers killed in Russian captivity.
He said this in an evening video address.
The explanatory note on the Verkhovna Rada website indicates that the amount of the payment will be 15 million hryvnias.
“The law restores justice, the law resolves the financial issue – so that the soldiers who were captured receive the same financial guarantees as all defenders of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy noted.
In addition, the period during which payments can be made in the event of an injury during military service that leads to partial disability has been changed. It is currently one year.
Recall that on July 28, Ukraine will for the first time at the national level honor the memory of military personnel, volunteers, and civilians who died, were tortured, or executed in captivity.
