The President of Ukraine has signed a law expanding the rights of military personnel to vacation. The document guarantees all military personnel 15 days of annual vacation, returns an additional 14 days for combatants, and introduces educational leave for contract soldiers studying under the “18–24” program.

This was announced by the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Pavlo Palisa.

It is noted that each serviceman receives a guaranteed annual leave of 15 days. The remaining days, up to a full 30, will be provided depending on the capabilities of a particular unit.

Also, for combatants (UBD), an additional 14-day leave, which was previously suspended during martial law, is being restored. This will allow servicemen who are directly involved in combat operations to fully rest and restore their strength.

At the same time, the law introduces educational leave for contract soldiers under the “18–24” program who are studying or taking exams. They can now be absent from the unit to prepare and take exams without disrupting their service.

Pavlo Palisa emphasized that the law comes into force one month after its official publication, which gives the military and units time to prepare for the implementation of the new rules.

Recall that on July 31, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that introduces a new vacation regime for military personnel . From now on, 15 days out of 30 days of annual basic vacation are mandatory, and combatants will be able to receive 14 additional days by decision of the commander.
