On Saturday, August 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees implementing the NSDC decision to impose sanctions against individuals who help Russia continue its aggression against Ukraine.

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

Thus, according to the presidential decree, 28 citizens of various countries who help the Kremlin maintain the occupation regime and sponsor the war against Ukraine were subject to sanctions.

In particular, Decree No. 613/2025 states that among the persons subject to restrictions are Lyudmila Ocheretna, Vladimir Putin’s ex-wife, the Russian dictator’s cousin and nephew Mikhail Putin and Mikhail Shelomov.

“We are also working with law enforcement agencies of partner countries on each of the names of such individuals. All accomplices of the Russian occupiers will be held accountable, one way or another, for what they did against Ukraine and Ukrainians,” Zelensky stressed.

In another decree, Ukraine synchronized its sanctions with partners, including Canada. This fully synchronized this year’s Canadian sanctions packages against 139 individuals and entities working for the Russian war.

“Together with our partners, we are also preparing a decision on the synchronization of Ukrainian sanctions in the jurisdictions of partners. All those who help Russia continue the killings and build a war machine for further aggression should feel real pressure from the world,” the president noted.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the implementation of the NSDC decision on sanctions against the Russian military-industrial complex , in particular against manufacturers of strike drones using artificial intelligence and their foreign suppliers.
