Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with the leaders of Finland and Norway their conversation with Putin. In particular, the topic was attacks on Ukrainian energy and preparations for trilateral talks.
Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.
He spoke with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre following their call to the Russian leader today.
Zelensky noted that the conversation was a continuation of the discussions that took place in Oslo with the participation of representatives of the United States, Europe, and NATO.
Stubb and Stere reported that during their talks with Putin, they emphasized the need for real steps to de-escalate attacks on Ukrainian energy and infrastructure.
Zelensky also discussed with them the preparation of a trilateral meeting at the level of the negotiating teams of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.
Separately, the parties raised the issue of further interaction with European partners and their participation in diplomatic efforts.
The President emphasized that Finland and Norway, which border Russia, are particularly interested in reliable security solutions.
“There must be peace, de-escalation is needed, and Russia’s protracted war must stop. Thank you to everyone who is with Ukraine!” Zelenskyy said.
As a reminder, earlier on October 27, Stubb and Störe had a telephone conversation with Putin regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. The Finnish President’s Office reported that the contact took place after preliminary consultations with the Ukrainian side.
