President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with the American team, during which they discussed strengthening security guarantees for Ukraine.

He announced this on social media.

In particular, representatives of the American president – Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, as well as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte – were in contact.

According to Zelensky, they discussed “in detail” strengthening diplomacy, security guarantees, and engaging Europeans. He called the conversation “positive.”

“We agreed to strengthen security guarantees. I have already instructed our team to promptly update the documents so that security guarantees for Ukraine are strong, and so that the prospect of reconstruction after the war is real, and so that everything is operational. Everything must be up to date,” the president explained.

He added that in the world, “a lot can change in an instant,” including security challenges. Therefore, Ukraine needs reliable guarantees.

Zelensky stressed that Ukrainians must understand how partners will react in the event of repeated aggression and what will deter Russia from doing so.

“I am grateful that the representatives of the President of the United States hear us and are ready to work together to find the right compromises, the right steps, the right solutions,” he concluded.

It was previously reported that the US is offering Ukraine a complete withdrawal from Donbas in exchange for security guarantees necessary for a peace agreement.
