Zelensky’s representative in the Supreme Court confirmed that the NBU illegally imposed financial restrictions on Poroshenko
During a meeting of the panel of judges of the Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court, a representative of President Zelensky confirmed that the National Bank of Ukraine illegally imposed financial restrictions against Petro Poroshenko.
As is known, Poroshenko is appealing Zelensky’s Decree on sanctions. According to the defendant’s side – President Zelensky – the Decree on the introduction of sanctions was officially published on February 14, 2025.
When asked whether she believed that the NBU had illegally introduced these restrictions into the official publication of Zelensky’s Decree, his representative answered in the affirmative and stated that the actions of the National Bank should be challenged in court.
“The decision of the National Bank of Ukraine, which deprived me of the right to use cards, blocked accounts, took other emergency measures that caused significant damage, this happened by letter of the National Bank on February 13 at 9 am. Since the Decree on sanctions at that time, as you claim, had not officially entered into force, did I understand you correctly? Poroshenko. “Yes,” Zelensky’s representative answered and added: “the actions of the National Bank can be appealed in court.”

Petro Poroshenko also stated that government representatives have still not provided the necessary grounds for imposing sanctions and are trying to hide the falsification of documents.
“This crime consists of falsifying the final document that the Ministry of Economy refers to the government, falsifying the document that the government refers to the National Security and Defense Council, falsifying the document submitted to the president for signature, and, ultimately, falsifying the Decree,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
“5 days ago, another decision was issued by the National Security and Defense Council that any sanctioned person can have all property confiscated and their rights completely restricted.
The panel of judges of the Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court, which is considering Petro Poroshenko’s lawsuit against President Zelensky, has accepted the request to request from the National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Economy all documents related to the decision-making process on sanctions. The deadline for submitting documents is August 19.
Let us recall that on July 17, the next session of the Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court began on Petro Poroshenko’s claim regarding illegal sanctions .
Subsequently, Petro Poroshenko, during his speech in the Supreme Court, where his claim regarding the illegal Decree on sanctions is being considered, stated that the government is entangled in its own lies .
As lawyer Igor Golovan noted at the end of the hearing, the authorities are artificially delaying the trial in the Supreme Court on Petro Poroshenko’s claim regarding illegal sanctions .
