Zelenskyy Meets NATO Secretary General Rutte in Kyiv to Discuss Alliance Support.

This was reported by Ukrinform.

“Today, we primarily discussed how our next joint steps can provide Ukraine and all of Europe with greater security and bring the real end of the war closer,” Zelenskyy said.

He expressed gratitude to NATO for its support of Ukraine, particularly highlighting the new assistance mechanism — the PURL program, which enables the purchase of weapons from the United States.

According to Zelenskyy, the initiative is already operational and has attracted $1.5 billion from European partners, with additional participants expected to join soon.

The president noted that this mechanism allows Ukraine to acquire essential weapons from the United States, including Patriot air defense systems, missiles, and HIMARS.

“On average, it’s about a billion dollars per month. We discussed with Mark that it could be a billion, or even a billion and a half, per month. We need to continue working on this. Additionally, we talked about how to involve more countries in this program,” Zelenskyy added.

Recall, the United States and NATO launched a new mechanism to support Ukraine through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative.

Norway previously joined the new defense initiative, PURL (Priority Ukraine Requirements List).
