Zelenskyy moves decisively: sanctions incoming for key figures in Energoatom corruption scandal.

He reported this on Telegram.

According to Zelenskyy, at a time when Ukrainians are enduring power outages and Russian attacks, any corruption schemes in the energy sector are unacceptable.

As a result, economic sanctions will be imposed on two individuals implicated in the investigation. Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko confirmed that these are Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman. The Cabinet of Ministers has already submitted a proposal for the National Security and Defense Council to consider personal sanctions.

In addition, the president stressed that, in his view, the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy cannot remain in their positions.

“This is ultimately a question of trust. If there are accusations, they must be addressed. Decisions on dismissals must be prompt—the fastest possible,” he said.

Zelenskyy asked Svirydenko to submit statements regarding the dismissal of the heads of these ministries and called on parliament to support their resignation.

“And from now on, everything must be resolved strictly within the legal framework,” the president concluded.

As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector. According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.

It is worth noting that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported suspicions against 7 individuals involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at JSC NNEGC Energoatom.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada registered draft resolutions on the dismissal of the heads of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Energy – Herman Halushchenko and Svitlana Hrynchuk.
