Zelenskyy appointed a new commander of unmanned air defense systems: who took up the position

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Colonel Yuriy Cherevashenko as commander of unmanned air defense systems.
This was reported on the website of the official online representation of the president.
In addition, Cherevatenko will become Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The corresponding order has already been signed by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Zelenskyy stressed that the new commander faces a number of tasks. These include the active introduction of unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular interceptor drones, and strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system with the latest weapons.
“Yuriy Cherevashenko participated in the creation of the first group of mobile rapid response air defense brigades, has recently been working on interceptor drones, and in his new position he must scale the development of the unmanned component in the Air Force,” the website states.
