Zelenskyy appointed new deputy commander of the Air Force

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a new deputy commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.

The position was taken by Pavlo Elizarov. According to the president, the Air Force will introduce a new approach to the use of air defense, in particular, regarding mobile fire groups, interceptor drones, and other “small” air defense means.

Zelensky stressed that the air defense system in this area is undergoing transformation. He also noted that the Lazar special unit, led by Elizarov, is demonstrating effective work, and the commander himself is well known in the military.

The President emphasized that a new organization for the entire component of such airspace protection should be developed together with the Minister of Defense and the military command.

As previously reported, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of Dmytro Natalukha to the position of head of the State Property Fund.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Mykhailo Fedorov as the new head of the Ministry of Defense.
