Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the deceased F-16 pilot Maksym Ustymenko

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Maksym Ustimenko, an F-16 pilot who died while repelling a large-scale Russian attack.
He announced this in an evening video address.
“I have just signed a decree awarding the title of Hero of Ukraine to Maksym Ustymenko, a Ukrainian pilot, one of our best pilots. Unfortunately, posthumously,” Zelenskyy noted.
He emphasized that he died while covering the Ukrainian sky and saving people from another enemy attack.
The President added that Maksym Ustimenko has been fighting since the ATO. He has mastered four types of aircraft.
“He has really important results for Ukraine. It hurts to lose such people. My condolences to his family, loved ones, friends and brothers. Eternal memory!” Zelenskyy summed up.
Recall that at night, while repelling a large-scale air attack from Russia, pilot 1st class Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustimenko, who was piloting an F-16 aircraft, was killed .
By the way, on the night of June 28-29 , Russia carried out a massive air strike on Ukraine, using 537 different means of attack. Ukraine’s air defenses managed to neutralize 475 of them.
