Zelenskyy confirmed the agreement on an “energy truce”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed an agreement on the so-called “energy truce” with Russia for the period of winter cold.

According to the president, the agreements should come into effect as soon as next night, but their actual implementation will be determined by the situation on the ground.

“The energy truce comes into effect tonight. We hope that America will be able to ensure this. This night and the next will show what the real situation is,” Zelensky said.

He noted that energy security issues were discussed during team meetings in the United Arab Emirates. Ukraine expects that the agreements reached will be implemented.

The President also emphasized that de-escalation steps could become an important element of the movement towards ending the war, but what is decisive is not the statement, but real actions.

As previously reported, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko confirmed that there are agreements between Ukraine and Russia on an “energy truce.”

As a reminder, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on information spread online about an alleged “energy truce” between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
