Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that an ammunition depot at one of Ukroboronprom’s enterprises was hit during a Russian attack on the night of July 6 in Vyshneve, Kyiv region. According to him, a criminal case has been opened after the tragedy, and personnel decisions are expected at the concern.

According to the head of state, the hit caused a fire and detonation of ammunition, killing nine people.

“An absolutely terrible situation. There was an ammunition depot in Vyshneve. The enemy hit this depot. A large number of people were injured, a large number of losses,” Zelensky said.

The President also announced that he had received reports from the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to him, criminal proceedings have already been opened, the guilty will be brought to justice, and layoffs will take place at Ukroboronprom.

According to the Kyiv OVA, nine people died in the attack. The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers were eliminating the consequences of the strike at 35 locations.

In particular, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported that 280 residential buildings were damaged in Vyshneve, of which 253 are private and 27 are multi-apartment buildings. The government will allocate more than UAH 3 billion from the state budget reserve fund to eliminate the consequences.

It was previously reported that after the Russian attack, evacuation points were opened in Vyshneve for residents who wish to leave the community .

Also on the night of July 6, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Kyiv , with the first reports of explosions appearing at approximately 2 a.m. The attack affected the Holosiivskyi, Podolskyi, Darnytskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the capital, with fatalities and dozens of injuries.
