Zelenskyy confirmed two strikes by Oreshnik on May 24 in a letter to Trump

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia used Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles during a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of May 24.

This is stated in Zelensky’s letter to US President Donald Trump and the US Congress.

According to the president, during the shelling on May 24, the Russian Federation launched two Oreshnik missiles. One of them hit the Kyiv region, and another, according to preliminary data, fell in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

Also during the attack, Russian forces used 54 cruise missiles, 30 ballistic missiles, three Zircon hypersonic missiles, two Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, and about 600 Shahed attack drones.

Zelensky stressed that Patriot systems remain virtually the only effective defense against Russian ballistic missiles and “Oreshniks”.
