Zelenskyy had his first conversation with the new Prime Minister of Great Britain: details

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham. The parties agreed to hold a personal meeting in the near future and discuss further cooperation, including within the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition.

The head of state announced this on Telegram.

According to Zelensky, he congratulated Burnham on taking office and thanked him for the assurance that the UK’s support for Ukraine and Ukrainians would remain unchanged.

The President also expressed gratitude for the words of condolences to the families of those killed in the recent Russian attacks.

“Ukraine and Britain were able to build the strongest partnership in the history of relations between our states, and we will definitely continue to work to ensure that it only expands,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

In addition, the parties agreed to discuss further interaction in the near future, in particular cooperation within the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition.

As a reminder, Keir Starmer officially resigned as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on July 20. Within hours, the king instructed Labor leader Andy Burnham to form a new government.
