Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against Russian propagandists and judges: who was on the list

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against Russian propagandists, media organizations, and judges. The restrictive measures for a period of 10 years have been applied to 29 individuals and 17 legal entities.
This is stated in the text of Decree No. 493/2026 .
Thus, on June 12, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures against Russian citizens and organizations.
The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Bank, and the Commission for State Awards and Heraldry to ensure the implementation of sanctions and monitor their effectiveness.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is instructed to inform the competent authorities of the EU, the US, and other states about the imposed sanctions, as well as to raise the issue of applying similar restrictive measures.
The sanctions list includes 29 individuals, including representatives of the Russian media and the judiciary. In particular, sanctions were imposed on the head of the Union of Journalists of Russia Vladimir Solovyov, the head of the Tatar-Inform news agency Rinat Bilalov, as well as a number of judges working in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories. Sanctions were also applied to 17 legal entities. The list includes:
- “Gazeta.Ru”;
- “Lenta.Ru”;
- “Utro.Ru”;
- “Tatmedia”;
- “FederalPress”;
- “SMI2”;
- The Union of Journalists of Russia and its branches in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
According to the Office of the President, the restrictions apply to individuals and organizations that participated in the spread of Russian propaganda, disinformation, and criminal prosecution of Ukrainians.
“We believe that everyone involved in the persecution of Ukrainians and the spread of Russian propaganda must be held accountable for their actions. Ukrainian sanctions are just the beginning, there will be further decisions. We are grateful to human rights organizations for information and assistance in documenting such cases,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, Presidential Advisor on Sanctions Policy.
As you know, the European Union is preparing a new package of sanctions against Russia . This time, the energy sector, banks, cryptocurrency services, trade, and even the fishing industry may be subject to restrictions.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees, which put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to synchronize sanctions with the decisions of the European Union regarding a number of citizens of the Russian Federation, Iran, and Sudan, and a number of companies.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees on the implementation of decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on sanctions against the Russian military and vessels related to the military logistics of the Russian Federation . The sanctions lists included 127 individuals and 29 civilian merchant vessels.
