Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may hold talks with US President Donald Trump as early as next week. The Ukrainian and American sides are currently agreeing on the format of a possible meeting.
This was reported by Deutsche Welle journalist Mykhailo Komadovsky.
According to him, preparations for potential negotiations are currently underway, but there is no final decision on the format yet.
“He plans to attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham. The format of the meeting is still being agreed upon – whether it will be a meeting on the funeral grounds, separate closed negotiations, or an official visit to the White House,” the journalist noted.
According to preliminary information, the parties are considering several options at once. Among them are short talks during the farewell ceremony for Senator Lindsey Graham, a separate closed meeting, or an official visit of the Ukrainian president to the White House.
Currently, none of these formats have been approved, and there have been no official statements from the Office of the President of Ukraine or the White House regarding future negotiations.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump made it clear after the NATO summit in Ankara that Washington will continue to support Ukraine and is considering additional steps that could help Kyiv change the situation on the battlefield.
