Ukraine will continue to strike Russian oil refineries unless Russia ceases attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Any steps toward de-escalation must be reciprocal and accompanied by real guarantees.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The head of state emphasized that Russia continues to attack civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and energy facilities. This week alone, Russian forces have used approximately 1,450 aerial bombs, 75 missiles of various types, and more than 1,640 attack drones, approximately 60% of which are jet-powered.

Zelenskyy also thanked the Ukrainian emergency services responding to the aftermath of the Russian strikes. He recalled the completion of search and rescue operations in Zaporizhia, the attack on a medical facility in Kharkiv, and the strike on a five-story building in Sloviansk, where people may be trapped under the rubble.

The President added that Ukraine continues to coordinate with international partners and is working to obtain additional defense packages, including air defense systems and ammunition for combat aircraft.

“Ukraine will be prepared to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries if Russia stops striking our energy infrastructure,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Vladimir Putin regarding the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the American and global markets. According to him, Russia should immediately supply over 300,000 tons of fuel, followed by several million more tons.

The day before, US President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner demanded that Ukraine cease attacks on Russian oil refineries . According to media reports, they threatened to deprive Kyiv of US intelligence if the attacks continued.
