Zelenskyy proposed Denys Shmyhal to head the Ministry of Energy
The President of Ukraine held a meeting with Denys Shmyhal, during which they discussed issues of state defense and stable operation of the energy sector. The main emphasis was placed on the prompt restoration of facilities after Russian strikes and ensuring Ukraine’s needs.

During the meeting, the president thanked Denys Shmyhal for the systematic work and processes that were activated to ensure the protection of Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the need for the same systemic approach in the energy sector. This refers to the ability to quickly restore destroyed infrastructure after each Russian strike and ensure the stable development of the Ukrainian energy sector.
“This is exactly the kind of systematic approach that is needed now for the Ukrainian energy sector. It is important that after each Russian strike we can quickly restore what was destroyed and that the development of the Ukrainian energy sector is stable and sufficient for Ukrainian needs,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President also reported on consultations with Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.
According to Zelensky, he is counting on parliamentarians to support the appropriate approach and position of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy for Denys Shmyhal.
The day before, the Verkhovna Rada explained the situation surrounding the possible dismissal of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk , and his probable replacement.
By the way, Oleksandr Kononenko was appointed the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine . He replaced Oleg Ivashchenko, who was previously appointed head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that Mykhailo Fedorov head the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Kirill Budanov and offered him the position of head of the Office of the President . The purpose of the appointment is to increase attention to security, the development of the Defense Forces and the diplomatic track in negotiations. Later it became known that Budanov accepted Zelensky’s offer to head Bankova. He stated that he continues to serve Ukraine and considers the new position as another level of responsibility to the country.
