Zelenskyy signed a law on national resistance: training will begin in schools.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on preparing citizens for national resistance, which includes the involvement of schoolchildren and students in the training.

This was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine .

We are talking about Law No. 4826-IX (Bill No. 13347), which introduces a new comprehensive model for preparing citizens and integrates it into the educational process at all levels – from secondary to higher education.

In particular, the document provides:

• implementation of the discipline “Fundamentals of National Resistance”;
• updating the course “Defense of Ukraine”;
• creation of specialized training centers;
• use of firearms during practical training.

Practical training is planned to be conducted at the firing ranges of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , certified shooting ranges, and also using interactive simulators.

The new law changes the approach to education: instead of basic military training, a broader system of national resistance will be introduced. It will cover pupils and students regardless of gender.

At the same time, exceptions are provided: individuals whose religious beliefs prevent them from using weapons will be able to take alternative modules, and people with disabilities or those who have lost their ability to work are exempt from practical training.

The law also defines the powers of government bodies to organize this system.

As part of the reform of military training for youth, the training cycle for national resistance in Ukraine is planned to begin at age 14.
