Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law extending military conscription for another three years after the end of martial law.

This is evidenced by the document card on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The law was returned to parliament with the signature of the head of state on April 14.

The document stipulates that the military levy will continue to be collected at the current rate for three years after the year in which martial law is abolished or terminated. The proceeds will be directed to a special fund of the state budget and will be used for the needs of the Defense Forces.

These are the following rates: for individuals – 5%, for military personnel and security sector employees – 1.5% of the cash allowance. For individual entrepreneurs of the first, second and fourth groups – 10% of the minimum wage, and for single tax payers of the third group – 1% of income.

The law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on April 7. It became part of Ukraine’s obligations to the International Monetary Fund within the framework of agreements on economic and financial policy.

According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, the extension of the military levy will allow attracting about 140 billion hryvnias to the state budget each year.
