Today, December 10, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the State Budget for 2026.
This was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
It is worth noting that more than half of the allocated funds — 2.8 trillion hryvnias — will be allocated to defense. A significant portion of the expenditures will also cover the needs of education, medicine, and social protection.
Earlier, some MPs criticized the 2026 State Budget, in particular due to the funding of the telethon and the lack of a salary increase for the military. European Solidarity demanded that Zelensky veto the budget in order to revise it.
At the same time, on December 8, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed the law on the state budget for 2026 and submitted the document to the president for consideration.
