Zelenskyy submitted to the Rada draft laws on the extension of martial law and mobilization

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada on the extension of martial law and general mobilization. If approved, both decisions will remain in effect for another 90 days, until August 2, 2026.

This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

It is noted that on April 27, draft laws No. 15197 and No. 15198 were submitted to the parliament, which provide for the approval of the relevant presidential decrees. The explanatory note states that the need for an extension is due to Russia’s ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine.

The day before, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the draft laws will soon be considered by a specialized committee, after which they will be brought to the session hall.

“Again for 90 days. This will be the 19th time the Rada has voted on these issues,” said Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to him, the current term of validity of the previous decisions expires on May 4, so the new extension will cover the period until August 2.

“So far, the date of consideration is April 28, but it could be the 29th,” added Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

We will remind you that at the end of January , martial law and general mobilization were extended in Ukraine for another 90 days – until May 4. At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the relevant decisions on January 14.
