On Friday, October 9, Ukraine’s top seed Elina Svitolina (WTA 7) will play in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing against China’s Zheng Qinwen (WTA 54).
The match will start no earlier than 10:00 Kyiv time.
Elina Svitolina and Zheng Qinwen have never played each other in official matches at the professional level. The Ukrainian has a significant advantage in the ranking – seventh place against 54th – and more experience playing on hard courts. Despite this, bookmakers, although they give Svitolina an advantage, do not consider her an undisputed favorite.
A difficult match is expected, in which the Chinese player will have the support of her home stands. In turn, Elina Svitolina seeks to improve her position in the WTA ranking, continue her successful performance at the tournament in Beijing and make it to the Final Tournament, which will be held in Indian Wells in November.
The live broadcast of the tennis match Zheng Qinwen — Elina Svitolina in Ukraine will be carried out by the Setanta Sports Premium channel and the Setanta Sports OTT platform.
