The Ukrainian military, which defends Mariupol from the Russian army for more than a month, ask foreign countries to rescue both the military and civilians from the besieged city.
A commander of the 36th brigade of marine infantry Serhiy Volynskyy, who currently defend “Azovsteel” steelworks factory in besieged Mariupol, made an address with such a request. Nataliya Nahorna, a journalist, has published this video on her Facebook page.
“We are addressing the world. It could be our last message. We have mere days, if not hours. The enemy is outnumbering us 1 to 10. They have air and artillery, infantry, tank, and vehicle superiority”, says Volynskyy.
He explains, that the Mariupol defenders of Ukraine are defending the “Azovsteel” steelworks factory, where both military and civilians are entrapped by the war.
We ask world leaders for help. We ask to commence an “extraction procedure” to harbor us on a territory of a third-party country.
The Mariupol garrison, with 500 wounded soldiers and hundreds of civilians, with women and children. We ask for safety on a territory of a third country. “Thank you”, said Volynskyy.
We note that the “Azovstal” Mariupol steelworks factory is bombed out and almost destroyed. “Superheavy bombs” are dropped there, and many people remain buried in the rubble.
Note that the Azov regiment considers the Mariupol deblock possible. At the same time, they are waiting for the corresponding decisive actions from the military and political leadership of Ukraine.
Meantime, in the face of a severe humanitarian crisis in the besieged city, soldiers ask the Pope to help rescue civilian residents of Mariupol, which are targeted by Russian aviation every day.
Currently, Turkey is ready to help with the evacuation of the civilian population from the besieged Mariupol.
Worth noting, that the Russian military holds at least 20 thousand Ukrainians in filtration camps on the Mangush – Nikolskoye – Yalta line.
