PMC “Wagner” planned to assassinate Zelensky and Shmygal

An assassination attempt on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal was in preparation, and it was to be carried out by the militants of the Russian “Wagner” PMC.

This was reported by the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivskyi in an interview with CNN, citing Ukrainian intelligence.

“They wanted to assassinate the leaders of the Ukrainian government: our President and Prime Minister. This was the goal, some of them were sent to Ukraine to no avail”, he said.

Lubkivskyi added that the Ukrainian intelligence tracked down several Wagner PMCs in Ukraine and abroad and eliminated them.

“All these documents and the necessary evidence will be presented in the International Court of Justice”, he said.
