Russian special state security forces had plans to form so-called “people’s republics” in the west of Ukraine. Ukrainian security service, however, uncovered them.
This was reported on the Security Service of Ukraine’s Telegram channel.
“Plan was supposed to start with the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, but thanks to the Security Service of Ukraine it was halted, organizers and key elements – arrested in Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytskyi regions in the early days of March”, says the message.
The organizer of the plan was a Russian recon member, who started overthrowing the government back in the Summer of 2021.
“He stated his plans to create a new government in Ukraine, and if current government wouldn’t leave – they would go by force”, – says the press release.
They wanted to recruit 500 former Anti-Terrorist Operation soldiers and arm them.
“One of the associates admitted guilty and pointed at the organizer. His records were sent to the investigation”, says the press center.
