After the atrocities of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation in Bucha gathered international attention, Moscow ordered the military to destroy any evidence of its army’s crimes in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Intelligence explained that the occupiers used mobile crematoria to destroy all evidence of their own crimes.
“In particular, 13 mobile crematoria have been detected in Mariupol with a view to remove the bodies of civilians from the streets. The occupiers are attempting to identify all potential witnesses of the atrocities via filtration camps and wipe them out”, the statement reads.
Intelligence noted that the military intelligence of Ukraine repeatedly reported on the use of mobile crematoria in Chernihiv region. In addition, the enemy’s mobile crematoria were detected operating in Novoaydar, Luhansk region.
Intelligence added that the occupiers used mobile crematoria to destroy the bodies of Russian soldiers to conceal the actual number of those who have been killed during Russian aggression against Ukraine and to refuse to pay compensation to the families of the killed Russian soldiers.
“The actions of the Russian army fall under the definition of “genocide” in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and Article 6 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Russian leadership will continue its attempts to conceal the facts of war crimes in Ukraine”, intelligence stressed.
