The third day of heavy fighting in Irpin: the enemy didn’t give up on idea to storm Kyiv

It’s been three days of heavy fighting in Irpin, the occupiers attacked from three directions, but their attacks were repulsed.

This was reported by the mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Markushyn in the on-air telethon, RBC-Ukraine announced.

“It’s been three days of truly heavy fighting in Irpin, the enemy attacked from three directions, the attacks were repulsed. Humanitarian aid was being delivered yesterday – at night, because during the day there were very serious shellings. There are many people who need help – we try within the limit of possibility, where there is no fighting. It’s really tough here, I’m at the funeral now, our fighter died in battle the day before yesterday”, Markushyn said.

Meanwhile, Vadym Denysenko, Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, rejected the assumption that the enemy refused to storm Kyiv because it was focused on Irpin, Ukrinform reports.

“If we talk directly about Priirpinnia, there indeed fighting going on in Irpen. The Russians are definitely entrenching themselves. But it is too early to say that they refused to storm Kyiv. Yes, indeed, they do not have the forces now, but at the same time we understand that they are drawing up their troops to Gostomel and the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in general”, Denysenko said.

He added that now the enemy is throwing all its forces at Mariupol and Izyum as two key points for gaining control over Donbass, as Izyum is a direct road to Slovyansk.

Denysenko added that the Russians had replaced one of the leaders of the operation, the commander of one of the armies responsible for the Kharkiv direction. And now they continue to attack Izyum, trying to bypass it, realizing that the city can not be captured, despite the fact that the city, unfortunately, no longer actually exists.

“And, to sum up, in fact, no one has yet refused to storm Kyiv. It’s just that they put it off a bit. Now the most important thing for them is Mariupol, Izyum and the triangle Severodonetsk – Lysychansk – Rubizhne”, the Adviser to the Minister concluded.

As the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously reported, the Ukrainian army is not only defending itself, but in many areas the Armed Forces of Ukraine are launching a successful offensive and rejecting the enemy.
